Having lived in Kent for a number of years I thought finding a list of suitable wedding cars for a friend would be simple enough. That was before I factored in my friend's neurotic nature. I had no idea that there were so many problems that could arise when looking at wedding cars, style issues, access issues and cost all had to be accounted for; then of course it was necessary to find a company in Kent that would be able to meet our needs and be available on the day.
The first issue to overcome when looking at wedding cars is to decide what style you would like to go for. With so many companies with different fleets the choice can often be head spinning. Classics include Rolls Royce and Jaguar wedding cars that provide an air of elegance and opulence perfect for a special day. These types of car are brilliant for ideal photo opportunities and will make any couples happy day as memorable as possible.
With so many rural churches in Kent however, the use of a classic car would prove troublesome. So many of the churches are down lanes that are rubble and dust with no semblance of tarmac; with old tyres and companies rarely wishing to put their wedding cars into situations that will lead to them getting stuck or worse breaking down the classic car option can often be left behind as unworkable.
A perfect solution is to use a modern wedding car; fortunately there are many companies in Kent that provide these types of cars for ceremonies. Models are mainly Mercedes and other executive luxury cars. They are perfect, as reliability is rarely an issue ensuring you get to the location on time.
They are also brilliant during the summer months as many of these cars have air conditioning meaning that both bride and groom arrive at the destination comfortable and the least sweaty as possible. After all both have enough to worry about with the ceremony that is about to go ahead.
When considering wedding cars it is important to look at how long you will need the car for, depending upon the type of ceremony you are having. If you are in a church and are then going to a separate location for the reception you will want the car there to ferry the happy couple for the journey. If you are having the reception in the same place as the wedding the need for the car will be reduced although if you are heading straight from the reception to the honeymoon the wedding car can be a romantic way for the couple to make the journey to the airport.
Cost of course is a major consideration, if cost is no issue there are a number of companies in Kent that can provide superior luxury. With wedding cars such as the Rolls Royce Phantom and Maybach, they really are the top end of the market and offer sublime comfort and true style. Naturally they are chauffeur driven while the suicide doors that open backwards on the Rolls Royce make for an elegant entrance anywhere.
The choice is simply endless; I now understood why my friend was so particular about what she wanted. Seemingly you can get a car to match any day and any style of wedding. If you want the classical approach a vintage car is ideal and offers timeless glamour. The more contemporary of us would like a modern car with mod-cons and a spotless reliability record. Either way, the choice is a major decision that must be made in consultation, woe betide anyone who makes the selection without getting the bride's seal of approval first.
